Sheila Fitzpatrick '97, Virginia Beach, VA, departs June 1998 to serve with the Peace Corps in Slovakia. She will teach English as a second language to 8-14 year olds. in memoriam A. Wood H. Jones '33, 85, Tuscon, AZ, passed away February 1, 1998. A native of Village^ VA, Jones graduated from Chowan and later attended UNC, where he led the band. After pitching regional Minor League Baseball in North Carolina and serving in the U.S. Army during WWII, he moved to Tucson and worked in speciality sheet metal and welding with T.A. Caid and Sons until his retirement in 1971. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maree Jones, son Leonard, and one sister, Hilton Jones Crow '28. Albert Lassiter '60, Raleigh, NC, died of an aneurysm February 22, 1998. He is survived by his wife Beverly and son Travis.
