Susan Clark, was named recipi
ent of the Seventh Annual Flor
ence Manning Secretarial Sci
ence Award during the 1969-70
year.
Open to national competition,
the award consisted of$100anda
certificate for outstanding
achievement.
Miss Clark finished her nine-
month internship in May and re
ceived her associate in arts de
gree.
At Chowan, she was a member
of Phi Theta Kappa; president
of the Alpha Pi Epsilon chapter,
national honorary secretarial
society; treasurer of the sopho
more class and a member of
the dorm council. She served on
the scholarship committee and
as program chairman for the
annual Spring Festival.
JIMMY SWAIN, director of alumni
affairs at Chowan, and wife, Shirley,
enjoy getting reacquainted with their
former pastor, the Rev. Paul B.
Nickens of Ludford Memorial Baptist
Church, Plymouth. The Rev. Nickens
was speaker at the Sophomore
Banquet.
CLAUDE SHELL, president of the sophomore class at Chowan
College is welcomed into the Alumni Association during the annual
Sophomore Banquet, April 30. Presentation of his membership card
is made by James Williams III, president-elect of the Alumni
Association.
