MURFREESBORO - A retired
lieutenant colonel who returned
to college after 26 years’ ser
vice in the U.S. Army to work
on his master’s, with the goal of
becoming a teacher, has been
named professor of mathematics
at Chowan College.
He is Acheson A. Harden Jr.,
who did his undergraduate work
at Williams College in Williams-
ton, Mass. He received his
T.M.A. in May of this year from
North Carolina State University
at Raleigh.
A native of New York City,
Harden was associated with the
signal corps of the Army where
he was responsible for the super
vision, education and training of
up to 300 men.
He is married and has three
children.
