12 1991 Chowan Opener Garrison beginning 34th years as head football coach Head Football Coach Jim Garrison, beginning his 34th year, has announced the 1991 football schedule this season for the Chowan Braves. Last year the Braves finished with a five and four overall record, giving Garrison his 27th winning season. With an overall 182- 136-12 record. Garrison is currently third among active coaches in the N.J.C.A.A. with career victories. Chowan will feature a nine game schedule this season with five at home and four on the road. The Braves who averaged over 28 points per game last season, will oncc again feature a high potent offense along with their traditionally sU'ong defense. Chowan will open their 1991 season at home September 7th, hosting the Shipbuilders of Newport News Ap prentice School. Kickoff will be at 1:30 p.m. 29 students named to 'Who's Who' MURFREESBORO - The 1991 edition of WHO'S WHO AMONG STUDENTS IN AMERICAN JUNIOR COLLEGES will Include the names of 29 students from Chowan College who have been selected as national out standing campus leaders. Campus nominating commiltccs and editors of the annual directory have included ihc names of these s(udcnt.s based on iheir acadcmic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success. They join an elite group of students selected from more than 1,400 in stitutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign nations. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
