GOOD LUCK\ Freshmen Give Their Opinions About Life at Chowan College By William Hobson Thirty freshman said that they were not satisfied with their present course of study while 159 are satisfied. The cafeteria food seemed to be the biggest complaint among Chowan’s freshmen as a majority stated that this is what they like least about Chowan. A ma jority of freshmen said they were favorably impressed by the people here. One hundred eighty students felt that they get along with their roommate; however, nine students did not get along with their roommate. One hundred thirty-six students have been offered alcohol by other students since arriving at Chowan. 102 of these students accepted the alcohol, while 29 refus ed. One hundred four boarding students out of 600 responded. Additionally 10 day students responded to an abbreviated questionnaire. The survey was complied by the Student Development Department, which wanted to find ways to make future students pleased with their initial contact with the college. Research indicates that the first semester of the freshman year is the most diffecult for college students. The complete survey follows.
