i Page 4 Smoke Signals, Friday, October 12,1979 The photographs on these two pages introduce a new teacher here at Chowan, Mark Wolfe of the photography department. He teaches freshman photography and is responsible for leading his students through the mysteries of image making. Wolfe comes to Chowan from Rochester Institute of Technology where he studied Black and White, Color Photogrophy, Commercial Photography, Adver tising, Filmmaking, Television Production and Direction, Computer Graphics, Graphic Film Production, and Animation. He has been an avid photographer for more than ten years and has worked in a wide variety of photographic jobs. While at RIT, he also taught a course in animation and film. After experimenting with filmmaking tor a year, Wolfe has returned to still photography. While at RIT, he did experimental work with animated films, as well as using computers to generate images for films. He produced a short three-dimensional computer film, where the viewer could actually see depth in the image when special colored glasses were worn. Wolfe views teaching his students as a unique challenge, and is looking for ward to a good year at Chowan.
