Lakeside Student Center
By Vic Hall and Vlc Tedder
For you students who haven’t noticed
yet, our student center has more to it
than your empty mailboxes. We now
have five newly covered pool tables,
two ping pong tables, a game room with
nine video games to choose from, a
television room, and a lounge area with
many of your favorite magazines to
read. These are located in front of the
offices of Coach Anthony, the center’s
director; and the SGA sponsor, Ms.
Pam Riddle. There are washers and
dryers for use any time during the day.
We even have our own roller skating
rink—bet you didn’t know that—you
can sign out a pair of skates for only SO
cents an hour! The person we spoke to
at the center is hoping that a new floor
will be installed for skating soon.
Outdoor possibilities include tossing
horseshoes or signing out a canoe and
exploring Lake Vann. The old tennis
courts (though, in our opinion, are an
eyesore) may prove to be challenging
for some, also.
So, when you are passing time bet
ween classes, go use the facilities. It’s
your student center too!
