HENDRICKS JOINS
HELLO DOLLY
The touring company of "Hello
Dolly" with Carol Channing will be
the new home for NCSA student, Heather
Hendricks. For the next six months
she will be dancing in the show which
will tour the country.
"It seems like a dream" says
Heather. "I We always wanted to work
in musicals, and suddenly, here's my
opportunity!" During the Christmas
holidays. Heather's dance teacher in
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, informed her
that there was a vacancy in the dance
corps and that the company had audi
tioned people in Miami. After audition
ing in Jacksonville, Florida, where
the company was then playing. Heather
was accepted.
She met the company in Greens
boro, North Carolina, yesterday and
will rehearse this week. "Hello
Dolly" then moves to Dayton, Ohio,
where she will be a full-fledged
part of the show.
LINDGREN TO LEAD
WEDNESDAY SEMINAR
Mr. Robert Lindgren, dean of
the dance department at NCSA, will
be the featured speaker at the Wed
nesday seminar at 8:30 p.m. in the
girls' dormitory.
A former member of the New York
City Ballet and Ballet Russe de Monte
Carlo, Mr. Lindgren has also appeared
on Broadway and on more than 100
television shows and "spectaculars"
on major networks. Before coming to
the North Carolina School of the Arts
in 1965, Mr. Lindgren had a ballet
school in Phoenix, Arizona,where he
was also choreographer for the
Phoenix Musical Theatre and the Som
brero Playhouse.
HANNA, CROCKER TO PRESENT RECITAL
Cynthia Hanna and Polly Crocker,
both students of Miss Olegna Fuschi,
will perform in the student recital
Wednesday at 11 a.m.
SUMMER SESSION hiELD

Giorgio Ciompi will be act
ing director of the North Caro
lina School of the Arts' summer
session at Siena, Italy, announ
ced Dr. Louis A. Mennini, last
Wednesday.

violinist of the Ciompi String
Quartet in residence at Duke, was
born in Florence, Italy, and re
ceived the Premier Prix du Con
servatoire in Paris.
The stammer school which he
will direct during the 1967 ses"
sion, was conceived by the late
Dr. Vittorio Giannini, president;
of the school. Dr. Giannini se
cured the collaboration and in
terest of the Italian Government
for the project, of which he was
going to be the director.
The summer school will be
held in collaboration with the
Accademia Musicale Chigiana of
Siena. Although the Accademia
will supply most of the teaching
staff, several faculty members
from the voice, piano, conductirig
and composition departments wf
the School of the Arts will be in
residence, according to Dr. Men
nini .

dents . One hundred and twenty
applicants will be selected by
auditions to be held in April in
Winston-Salem. Applications for
