If so, chances are you’ll find a lot to love in “P^ade”, the newest brainchild of “Swing ers” guys Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn. This film, which was written, directed, and produced by Favreau (with help from the swoon worthy Vaughn), takes a fresh look at organized crime from the viewpoint of “errand boys.” Favreau plays Bobby, a decent guy and aspiring boxer who just want to make enough money so his girlfriend doesn’t have to lap dance at bachelor parties. Considering that Bobby has to watch her dance and have guys grope her, it’s understandable when he gets a little crazy and knocks a guy’s teeth. After Bobby bombs out on his next job working construc tion, he goes to see a per snickety Peter Falk, who of fers Bobby and his bigmouth buddy Ricky (Vaughn) a lush assignment. Go where we send you, Falk says. Stay in lavish hotels, drop off money, pick up money, and don’t ask any questions. The whole premise sounds easy enough, but this is where the plot gets really good. The boys are sent to NYC for their first job, but by the time they are on plane Ricky’s already violated most of the Ben Greene- Colonnese To Exhibit Artwork at Methodist College FAYETTEVILLE, NC— Artwork of Ben Greene- Colonnese, a seventh grader at Pine Forest Middle School, will be shown in a special ex hibit at Methodist College’s Mallett-Rogers House Sept. 15-Oct. 8. He is miles away fi'om being himself Nearly every scene in the movie seems to revolve around the chemistry be tween Vaughn and Favreau, and with the exception of a few great scenes starring P. Diddy as a low-level gang ster; this really is their movie. A moving plot seems be side the point. Vaughn steals the show with his over- the-top char acter Ricky, who is so equally annoying and endear ingly obvious that you can’t help but feel sorry for the guy. Favreau’s character is much like that of Tony Soprano: both are stressed-out, hard working guys doing their best to hold everything together while everybody else screws up I saw “Made” at the Cameo Theatre in downtown Fayetteville, but it is no longer playing there and it’s doubt- fiil that you’ll be able to catch it in a mainstream movie the ater. My advice is to either watch it when it comes out on video or if you are more am bitious, drive to Raleigh or catch it there. Made is funny, well acted, and well written.
