Fall Back In ‘Da House

It' you’re bored on campus'
then why not create your own
fun? That’s exactly what a group
of freshman did.
Sent
may call
them a
gang or
a posse,
but they
refer to
them
selves as
a team -
the Fall
Back
Team.
They Party-goers enjoy the first
Cumberland Hail,
came up
with their name during a game of
street ball, and it stuck. The
members say they can “fall
back’’ on each other if they ever
need anything: to help with
computers, to give advice on the
ladies, or just to chill and have a
good time. These guys are
closer than friends; they are like
brothers.
Being around them, you
would never guess that they are
from different areas of the
country including Florida. North
Carolina, and New York or that
they met only a few months ago
at the beginning of the semester.
It seems as if they have grow'n
up around each other and are
completely in tune with one
another’s personalities, tenden
cies, and attitudes.
“We're really just a group
of guys that like to have fun,”
says Jamie Davis, one of the
members of Fall Back. “Living
here on campus, we are all we
got.”
The Fall Back Team
wanted to come up with a way
to have a good time on campus
with a bit of their own flavor

ever Basement Party in
added to it. They inquired about
throwing a party in the basement
of Cumberland Hall, where they
all reside. They wanted to have
a cover charge to be able to
provide some beverages and pay
for additional expenses. In that
case they would have to rent out
the entire basement, which
would
cost a
pretty
penny. So
ladies and
gents
would all
be free,
they
advertised
this dance
party with
posters
around
campus,
as well as by w'ord of mouth.
On Friday October 24th
from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. the tunes
were bumpin’ the basement of
Cumberland and about 80
students showed up to get their
groove on. Adam White a.k.a.
“Throwback King"’ was DJ for
the evening and was laying down
tracks ranging from reggae to
rap. hip-hop and R&B.
Kate Andruschenko and
Mary Khokhlova attended the
party and commented:
"We had a really good time
and there should be more parties
like this in the future. This is a
way for guys and girls to have
fun and interact on campus when
normally everyone goes off
campus to look for something to
do. You usually only see people
in the cafeteria or 'around', but
this is a way to get to know new
friends and have fun here."’
Other members of Fall
Back Team include: “Teddy”
Franklin, Brandan Williams a.k.a
“B,’' Dwayne “Big Thang
Wayne” Johnson, Dee Brown,
Treyveon a.k.a. “Strippa Man,”
J Bless, Jonathan Jackson “Jay,”
Lil’ Fish, Mike a.k.a. “Da
Truth,” and Keissan Johnson.
Since the first ever Cumberland
Basement Party was such a
success, the guys plan on mak
ing this a recurring event, with
their next shindig to be a Pajama
Party to occur in a couple of
weeks. If you want something to
happen here on campus, you have
to make it happen. These guys
wanted to get down and they
pulled it off.
