CdK§§§ January/February, 1988 Richardson crowned Miss Homecoming New Miss Homecoming 1988 a native of Florence, S.C^ studying accomiting/management By Bertie Ray, III In the heat of competition, Felicia Richardson was able to maintain her composure and grace, and offered some words of wisdom to her competitors. “Those of us who are participating and may not win, don’t look upon this as a failure.” From this response to her challenging question, a victory in her favor was evident. Miss Homecoming 1988 is a junior ac counting/management major from Florence, S.C. She is the youngest of eight sisters and she enjoys performing and spending time with friends. She con fesses that she believed whole-heartedly that a fellow contestant had the pageant wrapped-up, but she expresses joy and adulation with her victory. Felicia denies being a beauty queen, but from the applauses, hugs and kisses from the large crowd, she is in fact a win ner and a beauty queen. She sees her victory as a step toward future success and plans to make her reign active and enjoyable. Realizing that Miss Homecoming is a representative and a leader, Felicia feels that the honor of being Miss Homecom ing should be treated with respect and even admiration. She hopes that future pageants are held on the first day of Homecoming Week so that Miss Homecoming can enjoy all of the joys and responsibilities to the fullest - that in cludes being present at all official Homecoming events. Miss Homecoming 1988 is charming, articulate and witty.
