Food For Thought “Within limits of normality, every individual loves himself. In cases where he has a deformity or abnormality or develops it later, his own aesthetic sense revolts and he develops a sort of disgust towards himself. Though with time, he becomes reconciled to his deformities, it is only at the conscious level. His sub-conscious mind, which continues to bear the mark of the injury, brings about certain changes in his whole per sonality, making him suspicious of society.” —R. V. Wardekar in a pamphlet on leprosy DID YOU KNOW? Among the 50 states, excluding Alaska and Washington, D. *C., three states permit a boy to com pete in an unlimited number of track events and three more have partial limitations. Seven states limit the men to five events, while 19 limit participation to four events, and 18 states limit men to three events for a state meet. Many states limit a man to the number of running events over 440 yards. Another interesting fact is that whereas the majority of the states specify opening starting dates for football and basketball, only 17 do the same for track, and only eight states and D. C. limit the number of meets in which a school may compete. We Welcome Your Charge Account THE JEWEL BOX 128 S. Main St., Rocky Mount 414 Main St., Tarboro, N. C. I. W. Rose Drug Co. 112 N.
