Last Thursday night the Vogue
Dross Shop presented its new
Spring Fashions to the students of
Wesleyan and the residents of
Rocky Mount through the help of
Evelyn Harris, chairman of the

bright, gay colors as depicted by
Patsy Powell who wore an orange
shubert coloredi spring coat.
The most exciting features of the
evening were Charlotte Smith
wearing white nightie-night wear
and A. W. Parker and his camera
in pursuit of Kay Hobbs in a black
and white bathing suit.
The climax of the evening was
the drawing of names for door
prizes. Everyone was sitting on
pins and needles hoping to win,
except Jerry “Teddybear” Miller.
He knew all the time he was going
to win the lovely bermuda outfit.

WCUNC Choir Gives
Concert On Campus
EVELYN HARRIS models the
door prize at the Fashion Show
given last Thursday by the Vogue
with his prize he told thim he was
sending it home. This came as a
big disappointment to Betty Ander
son and Helen Jackson who tried
to exchange their prizes with him.
They won girdles.

The College Choir of W.C.U.N.C.
in Greensboro presented a concert
in the Student Union Building on
the campus of N. C. Wesleyan Col
lege Monday at 8:15 (p. m.
The aippearance of the igroup was
join'ly sponsored by the Wesleyan
College Concert Series and the
Rocky Mount Area Chapter oif Wo
man’s College Alumnae.
The Woman’s College Choir cur
rently has 98 members, of whom
45 were singing in this concert. A
large number of the singers are
music majors, but there are also
a number of women in the group
from other fields of study. The
choir forms an important part of
caimpus life, performing for such
occasions annually as Foimder’s
Day, the Phi Beta Kappa assembly,
In addition the choir sings three
concerts on campus each year. The
appearance at Wesleyan was part
of a series df out-of-town programs
which includes concerts at N. C.
State College in Raleigh, Fort
Bragg, and Hamipden-Sydney Col
lege in Virginia.
The program opened with a group
of two-part choruses from Handel
oratorios and continued With two
sacred compositions by Schubert.
Featured work in a fgrouip of con
temporary compositions were the
‘Prelude for Wcimen’s Voices,” a
setting of the opening paragraphs
of Look Homeward Angel, by Wil
liam Schuman, new (president of
the Lincoln Center of Performing
Arts in New York.
