even better productions in the
future with his continued as--

Watson Releases Honor Code Speech
Anyone who has been read
ing the Decree recently, or talk
ing to me or my roommate,
Boo-wana Peabody, or listen
ing attentively to two or three
other campus authorities who
speak wherever they can gather
two or three together, prob
ably are familiar with the key
words “Honor System”. Any
one who is exceptionally per-
spicacious, which means
roughly “being in the know”,
is aware that Wesleyan College
does not have an honor system.
We don’t have an honor sys
tem because we didn’t bother to
get one when the school was
founded and we haven’t both
ered since then. The question
is “Why bother now? We’ve
gone this far without one. Why
not continue with the status
quo?’ WelL I give up.
Why not? After all, we have
the Wesleyan code, and it says:
We, the people of N. C. W. C.
Community, do firmly intend:
1) That every student of the
community shall receive
equal and fair treatment in
all academic matters,
2) That every member of the
community shall maintain full
rights to his property and
shall respect the property of
others.
3) That every member of the
community shall have his
word taken without question
and shall trust the word of
others.
