THE DEBRIS PAGE 2 EDITORIAL 'The Cool Ones’ Take Over Second Edge Without a doubt this school is the worse possible source of editorial material. Nothing ever goes wrong on this campus. The students are among the most industrious and concerned individuals in the entire world. Day after day they move from class to activity without stopping to nap or chatter about nothing. This plaudible trait has forced the SGA to remove the pool tables and pin-ball machines, and even to close the card room. Wesleyan is a school of workers. Each and every student fights his com petitors for academic and athletic honor. They pride themselves on the 3.851 overall average of the school and their position as the only small college in the “Big Ten”. The administration also should be praised for its close co-ordination with the student body. Under the direction of outstanding SGA officers, the ad ministration has provided for every whim of the stu dents. The faculty certainly should not go without re cognition. They are among the best scholars in the world. Each is a top flight teacher and is genuinely concerned over Wesleyan and his own students as individuals. They have gone to the farthest limits in order to make themselves available and to con tribute their time to extra-curricular organizations and activities. They have earned the right to share in the glory of N. C. Wesleyan College. We also salute Dr. Collins, Mf. Sawyer and the Board of Trustees in recognition of the millions they have brought into the college’s coffers. Wesleyan is a truly magnificant institution, or is it? i^brts OFFICIAL STUDENT NEWSPAPER OF NORTH CAROLINA WESLEYAN COLLEGE OFFICES IN THE STUDENT UNION BUILDING ROCKY MOUNT. This gang has the unusual distinction of being experts on personal hy giene. Each of the members must fail a rigid physical and mental examination before gaining entrance to the folds of this club. The members pride themselves on the ab sence of ugly motorcycle chain grease from their fresh linens. Their hallway and individual rooms are among the cleanest and neatest at their end of the floor. This active group starts the day with hygiene inspection conducted by their leader, the D. C. Kid, The other members of the group, Fats Chopper, Blood Gut and SanFrancisco Blondy, are avid sports participants. They hold the intramural champion ships in naval battling, cycle riding, knife throwing, and they are the regional inter-colle giate drinking champs. This group has recently volunteered to conduct a clean up Wesleyan campaign. All “rubbish” will be removed either one way or the other. They have volunteered to take the faculty on "tours” of the neighboring counties. These boys will do almost anything for cash. If you have any odd jobs to be done please contact any one of them. They are available for night and day service, and they guarantee to please, or else. ABOVE; The “Cool Ones” prepare for their mcrning inspection. BELOW: A rival group, the “Ugly Men,” often raid the second floor domain of the “CJool Ones.” BOTTOM: A third group, “The Feetsters,” has taken over the gym complex. “The Stud,” new man on campus, has vow^ed to single handedly destroy all opposition to his push for rule.
