OCTOBER 25, 1968 A Tattered Note You’ve seen them, love, and laughed: A dusty burning in a heart too young; Yet you felt it through stunted prose. For, at least, his judge ment flatters. Now you dare, with di vine temerity. To sneer his love The damnation of faint praise. You snear! You sneer. But his love, though seeming dusty. Tarnished, grasping, is so Consistently young, so honest, That it can grow. R'ky Mt. Boosts (Continued from page 1) to raise $55,000 for the continuing support fund. Solicitations of gifts from the members and other business men and individuals are conducted by the thirty-two member Board of Directorso These board members are elected to serve four -year terms. The Foundation has been successful in reaching its goal every year, and hopes are high that they will repeat this success this year. The Rocky Mount Area Wesleyan Foundation has also undertaken the Capital Fund of $1,750,000 of which all but $116,000 has been raised. The Capital Fund was ori ginated with the idea of the college and was part of a threefold promise. The other two parts were a site for the college itself and utilities avail able on this site. It is hoped by all in volved that the Foundation reach its goal of $55,000 this year. The support of the Rocky Mount area will help put Wesleyan back in the black after its fiscal loss last year. Experimental Thea ter (223 Braswell), 8 p.m. Next Week: A review by Sean Moran of "The Little Foxes " produced by Stage & Script OF Atlantic Christian a hard 2-2 tie with East Carolina University. It looked as if the Bi shops were about to put the game away during the second and third quarters when two penalty kicks were called against us, resulting in the two goals for East Carolina. Wesleyan really looked good in the clutch, and, as the ECU coach said, we “out-hustled and out fought them.” In fact, the Bishops refused to admit the closeness of the game by simply remaining cool and keeping continuous pressure on ECU. These men, under fire, have set a standard for the drive and determination they displayed during the game. The only bad aspect of the game was the fact that we actually won on class and “guts,” while the score was 2-2. Another group to priase for their conduct is our cheerleaders, who have been very devoted to our soccer team. The next time you see one of our cheerleaders, tell them what a fine job they have done and are doing. Our nominee for player of the week is C. B. Daughtridge, who scored our two points at David son and Guilford and scored once for us a- gainst ECU. His coolness and steady play are two of the Bishops’ strongest points.
