Decent Food Comes To Wesleyan
Students at Wesleyan were
given a pleasant surprise today
when A. E. Slater Food
Services Incorporated announ
ced the transfer of Mr. Eckler.
Mr. Eckler has not been fired
and will not be fired from
Slater, but he has been
transferred out of Wesleyan.
This abrubt change came as
quite a surprise and it is hoped
that we won’t be dissapointed
once again.
The new change comes as a
result of a telephone call placed
by some concerned students
who took the effort to get in
touch with the officials of
Slater. This set the corporate
wheels of Slater in action;
finally we were getting across
the wall.
On Monday top administrat
ive officials President Collins,
comptroller Floyd Sawyer, and
Deal Alvin Horn met with
Slater officials. These people
were Mr. Dale, regional
manager, and Mr. Mayhan
district manager. It seems as
though this top level conference
produced a new contract, one
with which NCW students will

be well pleased. This may be
somewhat confusing to those of
you who were told that there
was no contract per se,
according to Mr. Sawyer. It
finally comes out that Mr.
Sawyer was only doing as
Slater asks all their customers.
Slater requested that their
contract policies not be reveal
ed. The principle behind this is
not to keep the customers in
the dark but to keep the
competition in the dark. This is
best explained by the fact that
Slater offers many things in
their contracts that other
companys do not. The term
applied to this procedure is a
“confidentiality clause.”
As intelligent human beings
