mds Bishop season

The North Carolina Wesleyan
College men’s basketball team
ended their season abruptly at the
end of February in the first round
of the Dixie Conference Tourna
ment.
Weslyean fell to Shenandoah
^75 and finished the season with
arecordofl7-8 (8-4 DIAC).
After waiting a couple hours
for Shenandoah to show up, as a
^vere traffic accident had delayed
iheir arrival, the Bishops took to
■lie court. Wesleyan held a five
point lead headed into the half.
Unfortunately NCWC shot only
7 percent from the fioor in the
second half and ended their sea
son prematurely.
Freshman Bradelv Blue led the
Bishops on the night with 18
points, while fellow classmate
Keith Sudler had 11 for the night.
Senior Fabian Lawrence had a
double-double in his last perfor
mance as a Bishop with 14 points
and 12 rebounds.
"It was very disappointing,”
commented Seniors Josh Walker
and Chad Green. This year
Wesleyan was expected to be a
strong comf>etitor for the Confer
ence Championship. With their
depth and mix of veterans and
rookies many people speculated
that this would be one of the best
years yet for men’s team.
N.C. Wesleyan finished the
season with three wins and en
tered the tournament as the num
ber three seed. Methodist,
