Scholarships. Internships. & Jobs 7 lournalLsm 8 Rocky Mount, NC: For the second week in a row the Dixie Conference has selected two Bishops as Soccer Players of the Week. This was the second consecutive week that Shaun Oliveria (Sr. / Midfielder, Richmond, VA/ Mills Godwin H.S.) has been named the Men’s Soccer Player of the Week. Caitlin Sanderson (Sr. / Midfielder, Neptune, NJ / % St. Rose) was selected as % i i the Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. Oliveria led the Bishops to their third tournament championship of the season. The Bishops tied Washington & Lee one goal apiece and defeated Bethany 4-2 to win the Methodist College Invitational. He was shut out during the first match but scored a goal in the match against Bethany. During the week, the Bishops lost to Mary Washington 2-3, with Oliveria scoring both goals for Wesleyan. NCWC’s record now stands at 5-2- 1, which is one win away from their win total of a year ago. Sanderson contributed in both the scoring and assists category during the week as the Bishops gained two Dixie Conference wins. In a 4-0 win over Averett University, Sanderson scored a goal and had two assists. The very next day. Wesleyan Students Intern at Honeywell by Jackie Walters, Internship Coordinator Pictured left to right are summer interns Tonya Bond, Kia Savage, Daniel Steven Durham, and Kasia Hunter with Georgia Salisbury, Human Resources Internship Coordinator for Honeywell, following their student presentations before Honeywell management in August. Tonya, a senior CIS and Business Administration major and honor student from Sharpsburg, works full time at Abbott as a QA Specialist II and attends college full time. She reduced her hours at Abbott in order to complete the Honeywell internship. Kia, a Washington, D.C. honor student, interned in the Advanced Materials Department assisting with a plant-wide computer conversion to she came back with one goal and three assists in a 9-0 blanking of Ferrum College. The Bishops now stand at 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the Dixie. Upcoming December graduate Daniel Steven Durham is an Elm City, NC resident, honor student and business major. For his summer internship, he worked in the Finance Controller’s office performing physical inventory, supporting One System implementation, assisting with monthly reconciliation, researching accounts receivable issues, and tracking and documenting supplier travel. Kasia is a junior majoring in Computer Information Systems. As Procurement Department intern, she was directly involved and provided instruction in the One System switch-over, tracked purchase orders and requisitions and assisted with tracking parts for the LVDT program. Honeywell will be recruiting on campus in October for Summer 2003 paid internships. Watch for future announcements!
