Billy Campbell of plant four has en- ^ered the U. S. Army. Billy has been ^*^itting since October 1952. ha Pi Bobby Landreth, plant two knitter, ® joined the Air Force. He's been at #2 since August 2, 1953. fp'' Uncle Sam has beckoned to Bill Hay- ''^orthof the finishing room in plant one. ®ill, who has seen only six birthdays (he Was born February 29, 1924), almost *^ade the draft without being called. He Would have been over draft age soon. Bill has been employed since April 1947. James M. Woollen of plant seven has hada most busy summer. He gradu- 3-ted from N. C. State College in June With a major in Textiles. He was em ployed by Adams -Milli s upon graduation. Then August 7 he married Miss Sarah ^arrenof Wilmington. On August 17 he 's to report to Fort Benning, Georgia lor a tour of duty in the Army. Jim was ^nnember of the ROTC at State and holds ^ ^nd Lt. Commission. Ronald Staton, knitter of plant one, ®*ilisted in the Navy July 30. Ronald has ^®en employed since July 1, 1952. LEONARD WHITEHEAD Carlton Leonard has returned to his knitting job in plant one after two years with the 60th Anti-Aircraft Artillery in England. Leonard is married and he has one child. He plans to attend High Point College while working on the second shift. Joseph Whitehead returned on June 26, 1954 after receiving his discharge on June 16. He had been away almost two years, having entered service July 14, 1952. Joe had his basic training at Camp Pickett, Virginia, was assigned to Cadre duty there, then was transfer red to Fort Meade, Maryland. Mr. Whitehead was employed as a knitter in Plant # 1 in September 1951 and was a Banner fixer when drafted. Joe is single, attended Thomasville High School, and lives at 110 Jewel St. in Thomasville. WELCOME home; Junior Johnson, now in the Navy, was a recent visitor to the Boarding De partment of Plant One. To Virginia Thompson, who lost her mother, Lucille Hodgin, her father, and Margie Spencer, her brother, we extend our heartfelt sympathy. All these girls are Plant #1 employees.
