4 - CLAUDIA LAMBE IS RETIRED WITH 46 YEARS SERVICE n /■I |!i«j w Miss Claudia Lambe, who saw the main office grow from an office force of four to the present force of 60 is retir ing with 46 years continuous service with Adams-Millis. Her request for retire ment has been approved by the Retire ment Committee of our Profit Sharing Plan. She will receive her Profit Shar ing Plan benefits in lump payments. MissL.ambe, a native of Jamestown, took a business course while working as forelady for the High Point Pants Com pany. Upon completion of her course in 1908, Claudia was employed in the office of the High Point Hosiery Mill as the only general office worker. High Point Hosiery Mill was merged with other interests to form Adams - Millis Corporation in 1928. After about one month of general office work. Miss Clau dia was placed in the order department, the position she held until her retire ment. An ardent baseball fan. Miss Lambe rarely missed a Hi-Toms home game. She was the first to purchase her season ticket each year. Many in the office said you never had to read the papers in the morning to see how the Hi-Toms came out the previous night. . . you just looked for the expression on Miss Lambe's face when she came to work. A constant companion of Claudia is her non-pedigreed cat, Rassie. Rassie adopted Claudia about three years ago and found a welcome home. Upon her retirement. Miss Lambe was presented a television set by the office employees. Advised to relax and take life easy after a brief hospitalization, she still is able to attend Hi-Toms games I 302 Steele Street High Point, N. C. I will miss all my friends and will think of you often. I want to express my heartfelt appre ciation to Adam^-Millis for the wonder ful financial help to me, through my in surance, etc., during my recent illness* to say nothing of the many kind deeds shown mein so many other ways. I just have not the words to express all I feel- Adams-Millis are the best people in the world, and Mr. J.E. Millis the best man. I ought to know after 46 year si I want to add a word for my friends who I am so sad to leave -- the Office, Sample Dept., the Store, all the Ship' ping Rooms, the Press, Mr. Hutton, Mr. Scruggs, the Machine Shop -- such friends of long-standing.
