SIX ARE RETIRED IN PLANT ONE i. urn. v'l It MRS. ROSE SWANSON Mrs. Rose J. Swanson, inspector, plant one, has retired due to physical disability. Her request to be retired as aresultof injuries sustained in anacci- dent last fall has been approved by the Retirement Committee. Mrs. Swanson receives approximately $1,000 retire ment benefits as provided by the Profit Sharing Plan. Mrs. Swanson was boarding a bus in front of her home at 808 Greensboro Road to come to work last year when the bus was struck by a truck. The impact threw Mrs. Swanson against the front of the bus, causing injury which resulted in her disability. Mrs. Swanson first worked with Adams-Millis in 1927 for several months and had previously worked at Sherrod Shirt Company and Hillcrest Throwing. In 1931 she returned to Adams-Millis as an inspector and worked continuously until retirement. A native of Wilkes County, Mrs. Swanson has always been with a crowd. She is the fourteenth child of a family of fifteen children. She has seven children living. Two sons are now in service. Mrs. Swanson is a member of the Ward Street Methodist Church. MISS LEVENIA HINSHAW Miss Levenia Hinshaw, looper, plant one, is retiring with 31 years ser vice. Eligible for retirement on the ba sis of age, her request has been ap proved by the Retirement Committee anJ she has elected to receive her Profit Sharing Plan benefits of over $2, 000 i® monthly payments A native of Randolph County, Mis® Hinshaw had looped at Randleman before coming to High Point. Miss Hinshaw lives at 503 Newton Street and is" a member of the Wesleyn*' Methodist Church on Newton Street. plans for the future are not yet definitei but she will be finding something to be doing most of the time. Her brother, John, was a fixer at plant one for over thirty years before his retirement. MISS LAURA CHOPLIN RETIRED Having been an inspector in plant one since 1910, Miss Laura Choplin was retired July 2. Miss Choplinhad work ed at the Rankin Casket Company before coming to work for Adams-Millis. She will receive her Profit Sharing Retirement Benefits in monthly pa-Y' ments.
