- 7 MISS MCKINNON WRITES LETTER OF appreciation High Point, N. C. July 30, 1954 ADAMS-MILLIS CORPORATION: In June 1933 I came to work for the Adams-Millis Corp. as an inspector and continued in that capacity until inspect- mg was discontinued. Then I was put on '’^ending. From the beginning of my em ployment with this company, I have been happy in my work and greatly appreciate the many favors which the organization has extended me as an employee. Dur ing these years I have been blessed with health and with the income which I re ceived from this company I have been abletobuya littlehome. Now my work- ^*ig career here has come to a close, '''hich I deeply regret. On July 2, 1954, Old Father Time said work no more, so with the Profit- Sharing which I will receive I can sit on the sideline and be at ease for a while. 1 really do appreciate this extra money the company has made possible for the employees. I shall always boast Adams-Millis ^s being the best. During these years I have contacted and worked with some ''^ery fine people. All these I shall great- miss and never forget. hlay I say many thanks for every thing. Yours respectfully, Bessie McKinnon Being eligible for retirement on the h^-sisof age. Miss Bessie McKinnon re- tired July 2 after having mended and in spected for over 21 years. Miss McKinnon had also worked at ^'irham Hosiery Mill before coming to Adams-Millis. Her first work with A-M '^as sewing hems, or welts, on ladies stockings which were knitted on the old ribber machines. Miss McKinnon lives at 1221 Mont- lieu Avenue and is a member of Lindsay Memorial Church. TWO MENDERS RETIRE MRS. CARRIE MASON Mrs. CarrieMason, mender of plant one, has been retired. Mrs. Mason on May, 1 completed 31 years of service, having been employed in 1923. She was eligible for retirement on basis of age. Her retirement benefits provided by the Profit Sharing Plan exceed $2200.00. With her retirement, Mrs. Mason leaves three daughters and a son work ing with Adams-Millis. Her son, Rob ert (Buck) Mason is a foreman on the third shift in the knitting department of plant seven. A daughter, Mrs. Edith Dixon, is an order clerk in plant one. Another daughter, Mrs. Billie Bowden, works in the order department of the main office. Her other daughter, Helen Mason, is secretary oi plant one. Mrs. Mason lives with daughters Helen and Billie at 108 Briggs Avenue. MRS. NETTIE LOFLIN Mrs. Nettie Loflin, mender, plant one, retired July 2. She had been mend ing since 1934. When asked about her plans, Mrs. Loflin said she first wanted to catch up on a few things she had been putting off around the house. Having been a participant in the Profit Sharing Plan since the plan was started, Mrs. Loflin has elected to take her benefits in a lump sum. She will receive approximately $1,500. Mrs. Loflin has a son, Bascom, em ployed in plant one. He is supervisor of the stockroom and order department in plant one. To Mrs. Mamie Heath, Plant #4, we offer our deepest sympathy in the loss of her brother, E.L. Parrish of Winston- Salem.
