LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL Our Little Industrial Baseball League teams have started practicing. We are planning to have two teams in the League, with Heritage Furni ture and Silver Knit Hosiery each having a team. This will make a four- team League. There are between 35 and 40 boys coming out for practice. Many of these boys are eight and nine years old, and for this group we are planning to have two teams of smaller boys who will practice and play against each other, but will not be in the Industrial League. If you have a son between the ages of eight and thirteen who would like to play on either of our four teams, have him to report on Saturday mornings, June 2 and 9, at the High School field at 9 o'clock. Please note that, beginning June 2, our Saturday morning practices will be at 9 o'clock instead of 10 o'clock. We do not know yet exactly when the League will start to play. We will post notices as soon as we do know. Thurman Millikan and Luke Jones, of the Finishing Department of Plant #1, have volunteered to manage the teams of the small boys. Others who are working with the two teams to be in the League are Carlos Auman, Forrest Edwards and A. B. Lockhart, all of Plant #7. Charlie Young, of the Machine Shop, has also volunteered to give some help this year. We are hoping to have a total of 48 boys playing in this program. To W. D. Cornelison, Superintendent of the Greige Goods Depart ment of Plant #7, we express our sympathy in the loss of his sister, Miss Lillie Ann Cornelison, on May 24, 1956. Guests touring our plants on May 23, 1956, were Miss Louisa Hatch, teacher at Senior High School; Miss Marilyn Dent, Duke Univer- sity, who is practice teaching in High Point; and Jerry Barnes, student of Miss Hatch at Senior High.
