EDWARDS PROMOTED
RAULSTON EARNS DIPLOMA
Forrest E. Edwards, fixer of
Plant #7, has been transferred to the
main office as an administrative as
sistant in the sales department.
Edwards came
to Adams-Millis
Corporation as a
topper in our full
fashioned division
shortly after his
graduation from
High Point High
School. He was pro
moted to knitting on
a 42 gauge legger in
1937. He entered
the Army Air Force in 1942 and re
turned to Adams-Millis as a knitter
on the combination machine in 1946.
He was promoted to fixing in January
of 1955.
Edwards has been an active mem
ber of the High Point Y.M.C.A. for
25 years. He is a charter member
and present president of the Industrial
Management Club of High Point. A
sports enthusiast, he has played on the
Adams-Millis baseball and basketball
teams. He shoots a fair game of golf.
Forrest helped organize our first
Little Industrial Baseball Teams and
served as coach of those teams for
several years.
Edwards is married to the form
er Elizabeth Marshall. They have
three sons: Eddie, Mark and Gregg.
He is a member of the East Green St.
Baptist Church, the Mercury Athletic
Club and a former member of the
High Point Jaycees. He and his family
reside at 400 Liberty Road.
In the office of A1 Raulston, of
our machine accounting department,
hangs a diploma representing his com
pletion of the International Account
ants Society corres
pondence course in
General Accounting,
specializing in Cost
Accounting.
In 1955, A1
was hospitalized for
several months. It
was during the time
he was recuperating
that A1 did most of
the study, having
completed eighty of the ninety assign
ments.
A1 has been with our IBM depart
ment since 1950.
DISTINGUISHED VISITOR
Dr. E. Stanley Jones, accompa
nied by Dr. C. C. Herbert, Jr.,
pastor ofHighPoint's Wesley Memo
rial Church, visited in our plants on
November 1, 1957.
Dr. Jones, one of the most in
fluential Christian statesmen of our
century, conducted a Spiritual Life
Mission in High Point the week of Oc
tober 27. Speaking at High Point Col
lege's auditorium daily, he was well
received by a capacity audience.
Well known and well loved as an
author, missionary and evangelist, he
prefers to be called an evangelist,
which means "the bearer of good news.'
