AMCO NEWS Vol. XVIII No. 4 Adams-Millis Corporation April, I960 PLANTS SEVEN AND NINE RECEIVE SAFETY AWARDS Commissioner Frank Crane, left, of the Department of Labor of North Carolina, presented a blue ribbon to the Safety Committee of Plant #7, designating the second consecutive year that Plant #7 has worked without a lost-time accident. On hand to receive the award were; Betty Davis, pairer; Ella Perry, seamer; Margaret Fulp, order clerk; Claude Coffey, stock clerk; and Louise Chapman, sample girl. The award was made at the annual safety luncheon in High Point, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and Piedmont Associated Industries, at which seventeen firms in High Point were recognized for outstanding safety records in 1959. Adams-Millis' Plant #9. in Tryon, was awarded a white rib bon for the fourth consecutive year without a lost-time accident. The rib bons, awarded in lieu of new certifi cates, are attached to the certificates awarded previously. In qualifying for the second con secutive ribbon. Plant #7 has compiled 1.400.000 man-hours without a dis abling injury. Plant #9 employees have worked since July 9, 1955, with out a disabling injury, during which period they have accumulated over 400.000 man-hours. The continued safe working record in the two plants is a result of the ex cellent work of the Safety Committees and the cooperation of all employees in maintaining top housekeeping conditions.
