As for making medical history, 259 of the 510 pints collected were air freighted to American National Red Cross Research Center in Washington, D. C. . The blood flown to Washington was received from people who had had a series of three tetanus shots. Plasma from this blood will be used to process a new tetanus anti-toxin and there was "much excitement and pleasure" among laboratory personnel who will be work ing with this first tetanus booster blood available in quantity.
