Gifts of all descriptions--wrapped in everything from newspaper to beauti ful gift wrappings--we re showered on the groom, and the uses of most of them had to be explained to him. Hot dogs, doughnuts and soft drinks--along with a lot of advice for Tommy--were served during the even ing. The girls claim that the shower came as a complete surprise to Tom my because none of the men in the Knitting Department knew of their plans. Tommy's bride-to-be is employed in the Seaming Department of Plant #7. The wedding is planned for June 25. Elizabeth Ann Hamrick and Ron nie Lee Barnes were married on May 1, 1965, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Walker, grand parents of the bride groom. Rev. Wood row Robbins offici ated at the ceremony. Elizabeth is em ployed in the Finishing Department of Plant # 1. Plant #2: Our best wishes to Frances Holy- field and James Bowman who were married on April 5 at Danbury, N. C. Frances is in the Boarding Department of Plant #2. Welcome back to Gaynell White, a folder of Plant #2. She has been out sick for the past six weeks. Pfc. Eugene Cocke rham, son of Alice Cockerham of the Finishing De partment, is now stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Eugene entered the Armed Forces on April 8, 1964. Congratulations and best wishes to Euvella Wray and Dale McDowell who were married on Saturday, May 15, at 2:30 p.m. at the White Plains Bap tist Church. Rev. Carl Lackey per formed the double ring ceremony. Euvella is employ ed in the Seaming Department of Plant #2. David Owens and his wife spent a recent weekend in the sun at Myrtle Beach. David is a fixer at Plant #2. It's good to see Gertrude Fulk back at her table in the Seaming De partment. We hope Charlotte Collins, who is out on sick leave, will soon be well and back on the job. Helen Collins, seamer of Plant #2, had a real good time on her recent weekend at Myrtle Beach. Congratulations to Ethelene Bow man who recently became grandmother for the first time. Etheleen is in the Pairing Department. Revel Young and Bonnie Joyce were married on April 17 at Delta Methodist Church, Sandy Ridge, N. C. Revel, son of Anna Young of the Fold ing Department of Plant #2, will re turn to school at Appalachian; his new bride is a student at Martin Me morial School. Plant #4: Ernest C. Pegg, retired employee of Plant #4, visited his old friends in the Knitting Department on May 25, Mr. Pegg retired ten years ago and has visited at Plant #4 each year since he retired. This is a bit unusual since he has lived in Florida during those ten years. If anybody would like to drop him a line, his address is 1705 N. Bargo, Plant City, Florida. -16-
