Plant #7:
Nina Fields, Quality Control De
partment, has returned to work after
a visit with her sister in Florida.
We understand that Frankie
Martin is getting ready to move into
her new home in Kernersville. Lucky
girl!
Ask Manzeline Smith, seamer of
Plant #7, about the big fish she caught
on the coast last weekend. We heard
she didn't even fish--just slept all the
time,
Louise Cookston, of the Knitting
Department, visited her folks in Ala
bama recently,
Ada Ruth, of the Seaming De
partment, is recuperating at home
from injuries sustained in an auto
mobile accident which resulted in her
being hospitalized recently. We wish
a speedy recovery for her and hope
she can soon return to work.
Welcome back to Curtis Church
who has returned to work after being
out for some time with a back injury.
Don Spell, of the Knitting De
partment, is still furiously making
plans to get married this month. . .
just can't talk him out of it.
Nancy Coggins and Frankie
Bulla are getting in some quick week
end beach vacations while they still
have Saturdays off.
Dot Jarrett (of the stockroom)
enjoyed a recent visit to Washington,
D. C.
On June 10, Charlie Tuttle,
supervisor of the Finishing Depart
ment of Plant #7 completed his 27th
year of service with Adams-Millis
Corporation. In honor of the occasion,
the girls in the office served him with
cake and coffee, which he downed with
gusto and the remark that he's now
one foot taller and one hundred pounds
heavier than when he came to work
twenty-seven years ago. He says he's
not overweight. . .he's just five inches
too short.
Welcome back to Ronnie Robbins
who has returned to the Order Depart
ment to work during the summer,
Ronnie will be a junior at Western
Carolina next fall.
The Order Department also wel
comes Larry Hill, head order clerk,
who was transferred from the Folding
Department,
Order Clerk Pat Lance, who left
around the middle of May, is greatly
missed. Of course, our very best
wishes went with her,
BOARDING ROOM VIEWS, . .
To the parents of our graduates,
we say, "Congratulations!". . .and
for the graduates themselves, we wish
the fulfillment of their grandest
dreams. Incidentally, we older grads
can tell you only that it is not done by
dreaming, but by doing. . . so the best
of luck to all of you.
Wonder if you heard. . .about
Bill Brown's incident with the pigeons
in the boarding room. . . that Nannie
Smith says it's wonderful being able
to see again now that she's wearing
glasses, , , that Barbara Sechrist is
looking forward to her leave of absence
to await a new heir, . , that Ruth
Thomas had to have her toe nail re
moved. , . that Lib and Bill Sink's
"Daisy" has a new calf. . . that Irene
Harrison was glad to get back to
work after being hospitalized. , .that
Ina Blackwell says you can't get around
those "getting older" aches and pains
(how true!). . .that Bill Jolly gets his
deep tan by fishing and John Parker
his on the greens. . .that which we
all dreaded to hear again, "We're
working Saturday, girls". . . that our
Peggy has a secret.
Because of the loss of someone
dear to them, our deepest sympathy
goes to Ruth Thomas, Lib Sink and
Stella How.
Our get well wishes go to Lucy
Tickle and Gladys Bowman,
Our happy birthday wishes go to
Doris Thomas and Lucille Beck.
