NEWS AROUND THE PLANTS Plant #1: Knitting Department Brenda Faye Jones became the bride of Thomas M. Beck on June 25. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Charlie Monk, Jr. at Brentwood Baptist Church. Tommy is a head knitter at Plant #1 and Brenda is em ployed in the Seaming Department of Plant #7. Welcome back to Winton Brittian, Hayes Rouse, Nancy Berrier and Roy Watson who have been out sick for some time. Louise Rabon, Roethel Peofnberton, Roy Hayes, Margaret Hil liard and Norma Shirley are still on sick leave. We send them our best wishes for a speedy recovery and hope they can be back soon--we miss them! As usual this time of year, most of our news is of vacations--and what more pleasant news could we have ! Grayson Brady's family (exculding Grayson) went to Canada. Robert Yates visited both the mountains and Holden's Beach. Ethel Rooks visited relatives in Goldsboro and went on to Carolina Beach. Those who went to Myrtle Beach included Brenda Thomas, Leo Griffin, Ulysses Workman, Ann Younger, Tom my Beck (honeymooning) and Ted Martin. At Carolina Beach were A. L. Kearns, Marcel Welch and Billie Her ring who camped with her family. Zetta Fraley was at Virginia Beach and Ethel Owen at Crescent Beach. Marie Bodenheimer selected Kure Beach. Ben Hair enjoyed a stay at Long Beach along with his son and daughter-in-law from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Spending vacations nearer home were Fred Beck and Joe Culler who were at High Rock. Many selected the cooler moun tains for vacationing. These included Mary Jo Gann, Barbara Moody who visited Rock City in Tennessee, Claude Cook who visited Grandfather Moun tain and Charles Hall who was at Carroway Mountain. Harold Driggers visited points in Virginia and Smoky Mountain National Park. Mary Smith visited Cherokee and Grandfather Mountain. Anna Whitmire spent some time with relatives in Brevard. Esther Worley went sightseeing at Grand father Mountain, Blowing Rock, Lin- ville Caverns, saw "Horn In The West" and rode "Tweetsie." Visiting friends and relatives were: Bobby Hastings who visited his mother at Shelby, N. C. ; Helen Robin son who visited friends at Wadesboro, N. C.; Nellie Baxley who visited her mother at Mt. Airy, N. C. ; Susie Grainger who visited her parents at Pamlico, S, C.; Elvelyn Hampton who visited relatives in Washington, D. C. and New York; Mary Gardner who visited relatives in Sanford, N. C.; Evelyn Milligan who went to Lake Waccamaw to visit relatives; Hilda Sellers who visited her family at Sylva, N. C. ; Agnes Steede who visited her mother in Columbia, S. C,; Mary Rakestraw who visited relatives in Virginia; Betty Elswick who visited relatives in West Virginia; Mary Ainsley who went to Asheville to visit relatives; Mary Holloman who visited relatives at Mt.
