Beach were: Vonna Easter and family, Coretta Bowman and family, and Dorothy Wilson and family. Euvella McDowell and her husband chose Carolina Beach to sun. Ruth Gammons and her family also spent part of their vacation at Myrtle Beach. Hazel Semones visited her daugh ter in Richmond, Virginia. Unfortunately, Dorothy Edwards, Lorraine Tate and Franky Willard had to spend vacation week in the hospital. At least it was safer there. Other hospital patients in the past month were Charlotte Collins and Betty Brooks. Hazel Semones and her husband have finally gotten moved into their new home on Worth Street in Mt. Airy. Congratulations ! Hazel is a turner at Plant #2. Boarding Department Juanita Bowman spent her vaca tion at Kure Beach; also some time at Carolina Beach. Gladys Bass and Dorothy Lank ford were seen at Virginia Beach. Lola Miller chose Myrtle Beach. Bertie Roberts saw her first grandchild for the first time during her vacation. Ossie Jones and her husband went to see the Grand Ole Opry vacation week. Roy Holderfield and Virginia Martin enjoyed a trip on "Tweetsie. " Zelphia Wright also visited "Tweetsie" and Hungry Mother Park. Uniter Bowman vacationed at White Lake. Rachel Puckett journeyed to Wash ington, D. C. Leauna Griffin visited her son in Cleveland, Tennessee. Burton Stanley enjoyed a visit to Laurel Fork, Virginia. Thelma Slate perhaps had the most fruitful vacation--spent in the tobacco field. When market time gets here, she can really take a vacation. Pairing Department Beach vacationers were: Betty Jo Hooker at Cherry Grove Beach; Jean Shaw at Myrtle Beach; and at nearby White Lake was Betty Cook. Giula Pinnix vacationed at Lookout Mountain. And in the Smokies were Jo Ann Vernon and Ermie Marshall. Visiting "Tweetsie" were Mary Harvey, Lois Bryant and Annie Hensley. Pat Boyd (a transfer girl) spent the weekend with her mother in Washing ton, D. C. Welcome back to Marie Turner who has been out sick. Congratulations to Rosie Creed-- she just became a grandmother! Sample Department Bonnie Childress spent her vaca tion at Virginia Beach. Thurman Miller went down to Myrtle Beach. Office June Martin vacationed at Myrtle Beach. Plant #4: Seaming Department Virginia Chamelin went to Daytona Beach, Florida, during her vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Hine, Sr., Ruth Ellen and Dorcas Gay enjoyed a trip to Washington, D. C. They also enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Natural Bridge and Endless Caverns. Margie Broadstreet and her hus band and Mr. and Mrs. Jolly Knight and son (Perry) enjoyed a trip to Cyprus Gardens, Florida. Marie Gray and her husband and nephew. Lane Watson, spent several days at Carolina Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Elliott and Lula Shore spent their vacations in St. Joseph, Missouri, visiting their sister. On the way back home, they spent some time with their nephew. Dr. Jerry Smith, and his family at Montgomery, Alabama. - 15 -
