NEWS AROUND THE PLANTS Plant #1: Merrill Passmore became the bride of James Allen Branson on August 27, 1965. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Joel T. Key at Sunnyside Baptist Church. Mer rill is a seamer at Plant #1 and the bridegroom is with the High Point Police Department. Jettie Smith's impressions of the World's Fair: "It was indeed a worth while visit. . .all the beautiful build ings, the spraying of water, the fresh cut flower each day on the water. . . all the beautiful color. . .the Tower of Light. The underground house was most interesting. . .also, the many pavilions. . . American Telephone, General Motors, Ford, General Elec tric and DuPont. Pepsi Cola offered a boat ride. . .a small world with more than three hundred life-like figures. . .the children of UNICEF- Land. . . Perhaps the most interest ing thing was the Historic Jordan. . . the visit to the Holy Land. . , also, the Vatican building with all the beauti ful blue light when we passed by Michelangelo's Peita. Seems such a shame that after October all of the buildings, except four and the Uni sphere, will be moved. " (Jettie is employed in the Greige Goods De partment of Plant #1, ) Alice Marie Hill, of the Sample Department, was married to Jack Keever on August 8, 1965, at the home of Mrs. Joe Brown. Plant #2: Nancy West moreland and Jimmy Hill were married on Septem ber 4, 1965, in a double ring cere mony at Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Airy. The bride is the daugh ter of Irona West moreland, seamer of Plant #2. It's good to see Charlotte Collins back at her seamer. She has been out on sick leave. Hospital patients from the Knitting Department are Preston Inman, Etta Markland, Virginia Easter , Shirley Cole son and Hazel Johnson. Hope all of them will soon be well and back with us. Vic Arrington, Knitting Depart ment supervisor, is really tops in bowling. He and his wife came out second with 1, 150 pins in the Moon light Night at the bowling lanes. In the bowling league standings, Vic had a high average of 190; and in the
