MRS B L KOONTS JR 1309 COOK STREET HIGH POINT N C BULK RATE U. S. POSTAGE PAID Permit No. 78 HIGH POINT, N. C. At Day's End Is anybody happier Because you passed this way? Does anyone remember That you spoke to him today? The day is almost over And it's toiling time is through; Is there anyone to utter now A kindly word of you? Can you say tonight, in parting With the day that's slipping fast. That you helped a single brother Of the many that you passed? Is a single heart rejoicing Over what you did or said. Does the man whose hopes were fading Now with courage look ahead? Did you waste the day or lose it? Was it well or sorely spent? Did you leave a trail of kindness. Or a scar of discontent? As you close your eyes in slumber. Do you think that God will say, "You have earned one more tomorrow By the work you did today? " --Selected (Submitted by Irene Pruitt, Greige Goods Department, Plant #1) The life of every man is a diary in which he means to write one story and writes another; and his humblest hour is when he compares the volume as it is with what he hoped to make it. --James M. Barrie JAMES L. GETAZ DIES Mr. James L. Getaz, who was closely associated with G. R. Mar- lette and others in our Research and Development Department since 1956, died September 10 in New York City. Mr. Getaz formerly operated a hsoiery mill in Maryville, Tennessee. He devoted the last 30 years to inven tions in hosiery and other fields; he was internationally known for his ac complishments in this area. Perhaps his most outstanding contribution to the hosiery industry was in the develop ment of the loopless toe in both half hose and ladies' seamless hosiery. He was instrumental in the invention and promotion of the longitudinal seam rather than the transversal seam for toe closure of ladies' hosiery, and the method developed largely in Adams- Millis plants was patented under his name. A similar method of toe clos ure for half hose, although held invalid in the courts for patents, is widely used in the industry. Through his work with our Re search Department, Mr. Getaz made many friends at Adams-Millis who were saddened to learn of his death. I shall pass this way but once. , . Therefore, if there be any good that I can do for my fellowman Let me not defer or neglect it. . . For. . .1 shall not pass this way again. 2oov, OH 3.0‘i-Z
