OVER HEARD Plant 1: Ruby Combs, greige goods de partment, recently visited her father and stepmother in Landsdale, Penn sylvania. She had not seen them in six years. It's so good to have Lillian Sipes back in the knitting department. She had been out for some time because of illness. Plant 2: Welcome back to Gladys Myers who has been on maternity leave. Plant 2 has been hard hit recently by illnesses. The following are out or have been out because of it: Mary Arnder, Mae Beane, Joe Allred, Helen Gullatt, Robert Reynolds, Margaret McMillian, Bertha Holt, Arlene Hawks, Carolyn Robertson, Dorothy Willard, Dallas Harvey, Betty Jean Jones and Gladys Easter. News of late vacations. . . Rachel Puckett enjoyed her vaca tion in Alabama. Rachel Hicks spent her vacation in Maryland--had a real good time. Faith Hawks and her husband had a short vacation in Norfolk, Virginia, with their children and grandchildren. Had a good time, but hated to leave the children up there. Barbara Bryant has just returned from vacation. From where? Not reported. Pauline Fulk enjoyed her vaca tion touring Pennsylvania, Maryland and Washington. She said it was wonderful, but too short. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Bowman spent their vacation in Boone. Dot McFall and her family spent their vacation at Lakeside Amusement Park, Roanoke, Virginia. Betty Jo Hooker spent a second vacation at Myrtle Beach. Elaine Marshall and her family spent a weekend at Myrtle Beach. Lois Bryant and family spent their vacation in the Smokies. Johnny Vernon enjoyed his vaca tion at the beach. Lola Denny spent a week fishing at Morehead City. Lillian Dawson spent a week in West Virginia where her husband held a revival. Wonder why Eva Hooker plays "hookey" on Monday morning. The Autumn Leaves Festival created a great deal of excitement in the Mt. Airy area. It was thrilling to see the wagon train come by the plant on Thursday morning. Lola Denny added to the festivities by wearing a fifty-year-old dress and bonnet on Friday--worked in it for eight hours. Burton Stanley really enjoyed the Festival--especially the dance. Patty Marshall's daughter is the new beauty queen at Blue Ridge Junior High. Virginia Nunn filled her new 1970 Oldsmobile with girls from the finishing department and took them over to Winston-Salem for a day of shopping. They had a ball! Rachel Midkiff has a new Buick-- yellow and brown. Pretty, pretty! ! Welcome back to Mitchell Bowman who has been out and in the hospital. We extend our deepest sympathy to Ruby R. Peurifoy in the recent death of her mother, Mrs. Flossie E. Ritter of Robbins, North Carolina. Ruby is AMCO NEWS reporter for the main office. - 13
