HOSIERY PLANTS RECEIVE ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
SAFETY CERTIFICATES
W. C. Creel, center. Commissioner of
Labor for North Carolina, presented Certificates
of Safety Achievement to representatives of the
Hosiery Division. Left to right are: J. W. Snoth-

Commissioner Creel; Claude Eddinger, Plant 7,
Ladies' Hosiery Division; and Gaston Hodges,
Mt. Airy plant. Men's and Boys' Division.
The machine shop, main office and the Mt.
Airy plant operated the year of 1972 without a
lost-time accident. Plant 7 was cited for having
tnade a significant reduction in accident fre
quency for the year.
Commissioner Creel also presented the
Certificate of Safety Achievement to the Haw
H-iver plant of the Fabrics Division for working
^^he year 1972 without a lost-time injury.
According to Commissioner Creel, North
Carolina has a comparatively low Disabling In
jury Frequency Rate (8.2 lost-time accidents
per million man-hours), compared with the
Riuch higher national rate (15.4 lost-time acci
dents per million man-hours). The 1972 rate
lor all divisions of Adams-Millis was 8.3. The
Hosiery Division had the lowest rate with the
frequency of 5. 0

SEARS EXCELLENCE AWARD
For the eighth consecutive year, Adams-
Millis Hosiery Company has been awarded the
Sears, Roebuck and Company Symbol of Excel
lence. Shown with the award are D. G. Lindner,

dent in charge of manufacturing and production
for the Men's and Boys' Division. The Sdars,
Roebuck and Company Symbol of Excellence,
is presented annually to those suppliers who
qualify for excellence in quality, service and
delivery. Of the 240 suppliers in Sears Depart
ment 640, boys' furnishings, Adams-Millis
Hosiery Company is one of two companies
who have received the award for each of the
eight years the awards have been presented.
