CLIFTON S. FARMER HOSIERY 3 YEARS CLIFTON S. FARMER, fixer in the Ladies' Hosiery Division in High Point, retired on June 19; he had been with the company since 1969. Clifton is a native of Surry County, but learned to fix in Norristown, Pennsylvania. He has been employed in the Kernersville-High Point area most of his life and worked in the Adams-Millis Kernersville plant in the 40's. He is married to the former Lake Tucker of Guilford County. They have one son, Charlie James Farmer, who is on the faculty of State University in Frostburg, Maryland. The Farmers attend Bunker Hill Primitive Baptist Church where Clifton serves as a lay minister. LENNER TUTTLE HOSIERY 2 YEARS When asked what she is doing now that she has retired, LENNER TUTTLE replied, "Oh, have I ever been busyl Canning, freezing. . . filling up my freezer with vegetables and meats. " Lenner retired from the greige goods department of the Hosiery Division's half-hose plant in High Point in August. She has worked intermittently since 1968; her jobs have included looping, turning, seaming leotards and seaming toes. Born in Stokes County, Lenner has lived in the High Point area since 1939. Her husband, Broadus Tuttle, is a retired furniture worker. They make their home on Route 5, High Point; they are members of Christ Gospel Missionary Baptist Church on the Old Thomasville Road. Two Employees Taken By Death Thomas E. Elrod, fixer in the Hosiery Di vision's Hickory p 1 a n t, died August 4, 1973, following a brief illness. He had been employed in the Hickory plant for 43 years, starting as a top knitter in 1930. Tom was born in Catawba County to the late W. A. and Lora Ella Elrod. He was married to Estelle Sigmon, who survives of the home, 1130-9th Avenue, S. E. in Hickory. He was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church. Sur viving in addition to his wife are five daughters, Mrs. Mary Ledford, Mrs. Dorothy Huffman, and Mrs. Brenda Griffith, all of Hickory, Mrs. Virginia Anders on of Clearwater, Florida, Mrs. Kay Mundy of Newton; two sons, George Elrod and Charles Elrod, both of Hickory; two half' brothers and a half-sister, and 11 grandchildren. Harry N. Jadlot, sweeper in the Hosiery Division's Edmond, Oklahoma plant, died suddenly on August 17, 1973. He first worked in the Edmond plant in 1970 and had been con tinuously employed since March of 1 973. Harry was born in Richards, Missouri and graduated from Nevada High School. H e moved to Oklahoma City in 1940 and to Edmond in 1945. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Juanita of the home, 20 E. Third Street in Edmond; a soW' Harry Norman, Jr. of Slidell, Louisiana; ^ daughter, Mrs. Norma Barton of Arcadia. Oklahoma who is also employed in the Edmond plant; three brothers, one sister, and three grandchildren.
