The promotions of C. Dan Gough and Lyndal
Wiseman to plant managerial duties in the
Kernersville plants of Adams-Millis Hosiery
Company have been announced by R. L. Boyles,
vice president of the Men's and Boys' Division
°f the company.
Gough, a native of Oklahoma City, was named
Superintendent of the knitting plant. He succeeds
Howard Young who is retiring,
Dan Gough was a fixer trainee in the knit-
^itLg department of the Adams-Millis hosiery
plant in Edmond, Oklahoma while attending
Central State University, where he graduated
'vith a deg ree in business administration and
Computer science. After graduation, he was
transferred to the Kernersville plant as a man
agement trainee. He is married to the former
Bobbie Golden.
Howard Young moved from Rockingham
County to the Piedmont area of North Garolina
"'hen he was thirteen years old. He came with
■^dams-Millis in 1927 and worked continuously
rintil his retirement. He was first employed as
knitter, then promoted to fixer, head fixer and
Hnally to plant manager. His wife, Mattie Young,
9-lso was formerly employed in the Kernersville
plant.
An active member of Kernersville Baptist
Church, Howard is an ordained deacon and mem
ber of the board of trustees of the church. He is
9-lso a director of the Kernersville branch of
Northwestern Bank and a past director of the
K,
crnersville Y.M.C.A. He is a member of the
Bions Club, Woodmen of the World and the Kern-
®rsville Chamber of C ommerce.

Wiseman while attending Central
State University, where he majored in business
administration. Mrs. Wiseman, the former
Marsha Pierman, is an Inforex operator in the
offices of the Adams-Millis finishing plant.
FABRICS HOLDS SUPERVISORY
TRAINING COURSE

George Poovey conducts a course in train
ing and engineering for participants in the Fab
rics supervisory training workshop.
In September, October and November,
Adams-Millis Fabrics held training sessions for
all supervisors of the Fabrics Division. Each
session, held at the Ramada Inn in Greensboro,
lasted two days and was culminated with a ban
quet on the evening of the second day.
Training instructors came from within the
company. Courses included Motivationand Lead
ership, Public Speaking and Confidence Building,
Planning and Scheduling, Personnel Policies,
Departmental Budgeting, Industrial Engineering
and Training, Safety, and Product Development.
All participants were awarded Certificates
of Completion by Divisional President Jack
Shoffner.
