JUR RDirOR IN ON IT! Hosiery Division high point plants Men's and Boys' Hosiery Division: Everybody is glad to see Plant Manager Ben Hooks back at his post. He has been out due to illness, but is feeling much better now. Leo Griffin had a scare one recent morning On his way to work. He saw a car heading right toward him. Fortunately, he wasn'thurt, although Ms truck was. George Neal and his wife vacationed in Spo kane, Washington, this year. While there, they ■wentto the World's Fair. Confidentially, George says you can see just about as much at the North Carolina State Fair. It was a nice trip anyway. About the meanest trick of late happened to Lucy Hill. After planting, taking care of, and Waiting for her garden of beans to fill out just ^ight, she went out to gather in the fruits of her labor to find that somebody had picked all her beans. They didn't even leave her so much as a "mess. " Among those vacationing at the beach during the week of the 4th of July were Edna Teal, Kitty Hilliard, Viola Lineberry, Estelle Teal, Betty Halley, Clete Blevins, Arnold Brown, Raymond Stamey, Lassie Crotts, Barbara Walker, Nancy Sarvis, Virginia McLean, Betty Lloyd, Janice Luke, Martha Saintsing, Ruby Combs, Betty Carter and Faye Stanley, Ersia Lochridge spent a few days in Atlanta, Georgia, as did Helen Mason and Billie Bowden who went to Atlanta to visit with Billie's daughter 3-nd son-in-law. Modell Stamey spent four weeks in Germany visiting with her daughter and family. Modell's Son-in-law is an Army chaplain. Mountain vacationers were: Rochelle Ester, Kenneth Reaves, Mildred Carter and Dale Tysing- er. Other vacationers were Lucille Miller who Went to Maggie Valley; Virginia Wood who went M St. Louis to visit her sisters; Barbara Jones - 19 who visited her father in Virginia and her brother in Charlotte; Leona Wolfe who went to Tampa, Florida; Noley Gladden who went to Lake Norman; and Julia Bridges who went to Bennettsville, South Carolina, to attend her brother's wedding. Ladies' Hosiery Division: Welcome back to Carolyn Dockery, Patricia Long and Lois Luquer who have been out on leave. The hot sunshine of July and the added oppor tunities to "get away" that the holidays bring, caused many to flock to the beaches. Among them were Lillie Hodgin, Margaret Fowler, Lucille Phillips, Annie Phillips, Ruby Brady, Diana Johnson, Patricia Long, Louise McKiver, Claude Eddinger, Mary Coltrane, Emma Ard, Dot Maynard, Stella Austin, Dorcas Thomas, Paige Bodenheimer, Mary Waldroup, Vickie Boozer, Tessie Rothrock, Margie Queen, Glenda Osborne, Evelyn Cox, and Don Williard. Many others headed toward cool waters to spend their free time--but in a less crowded setting, such as cabins by the lake. They were Rusty Cassidy, Ruth Lee, Joyce Black, Rebecca Hall, Max Moore and Nell Chapman. If rest and relaxation is just not your "bag," then maybe traveling to sightsee and visit friends and relatives is. Those who did were Esther Lowe who spent two weeks in London; Shirley Ruff who traveled to Washington, D.C., New Jersey and Myrtle Beach; Nancy Zimmerman who also traveled to the nation's capitol; Betty Davis who traveled through Washington, D. C. and Baltimore, Maryland; Evie Jones who went to West Jefferson; Gladys Montgomery who went to Fancy Gap, Virginia; Virginia Wood and Virginia Walker who traveled to Florida; Inez Lucas who went to South of the Border in South Carolina; Grace Ward who went to exotic Hawaii; Ruby Deskins who vacationed in West Virginia; Imogene Weir who traveled to Pennsylvania and visited the Amishland while there; Mary Bennett who went to Florida; Shirley White who went to Char lotte; Edna Holder who vacationed in Kenly, N. C. ; Inez Prevatt who vacationed in California; Phy- liss Smith who traveled to West Virginia; Nell McMahan who vacationed in Florida; Fred Hen derson who went to Rock Hill, S.C.; Brenda Wright who went to Jacksonville, Florida; Hattie Ingram who traveled to Natural Bridge in Virginia, Niagara Falls in Canada, and also Corning, N. Y. ; Lib Sink who went to Alabama to visit her son; Phyllis Jones and Lucy Beck who went to High Rock; and Shirley Evans who went to Washington, D.C. Some employees chose the fresh, cool air of the mountains to idle away their free time. They
