Mewborne, Jr. Dear Friends: Often you hear of the need for teamwork among all Adams-Millis employees in order for us to be a successful company. Butjust what is meant when it is said we need teamwork? We are all, by our very nature, competi tive beings. Americans are uniquely so. Our love of sports is a good example. Well, business competition is no different from sports competition and because we have competed well since our company was formed in 1904, we continue to be in the ball game. There are presently other companies which produce products similar to ours, and, to stay ahead in the game, our team must do things better than the other team: Lower prices, better quality, superior service, more varied styles-- the possibilities are endless. The point is that to win the game--or to win the customers--we must compete, and we must compete as a team. And everyone benefits from the results. . . our shareholders who get a return on the investment they put into the company. . . our employees who get steady work and fair wages. . .and our customers who get quality products at good prices. It is my sincere desire that we enter into 1975 with renewed enthusiasm and, as a team, strive to meet the following aims: (1) To produce quality hosiery and yarn for sale at a fair price, (2) To achieve these aims with the aid of you, the employees of the company, (3) To provide you a fair return for your skill and effort in the form of pay, benefits and good working conditions, and (4) To provide a reasonable profit for those who have invested the money which makes our jobs possible. Thanks for the chance to talk with you; and, to you and your loved ones, I send you my wishes for a Happy Holiday Season and my gratitude for your loyalty and hard work in the past year. Sincerely,
