Promotions Announced in Plants and Offices
Two plant managers in Adams-
Millis Hosiery Company have
been promoted to Group General
Managers, and a number of other
promotions have been announced
throughout Adams-Millis Cor
poration.
The new Group General
Managers are Danny F. McNair,
who had been Plant Manager at
Plant 3/10 in Kernersville, and
Kenneth Van Joyce, who had
been Plant Manager at Plant 11
in Mt. Airy.
Larry Strader has been pro
moted to Plant Manager at Plant
3, he moves from that position at
Plant 10.
Joe H. Thomas has been pro
moted from Director of Purchas
ing to Director of Purchasing and
Quality Control. He also assumes
additional duties in warehouse
and trucking management. Joe
came with Adams-Millis in 1980.
In the Administrative Office,
Lynda Lamb has been named Ac
counting Supervisor. Lynda
came to Adams-Millis a year and
a half ago after graduating with a
degree in Accounting from Ap
palachian State University at
Boone. She lives in Lexington.
Records show that Lynda ap
parently is the first woman to
hold this position at Adams-
Millis.
William H. (Bill) Thomas has
been promoted to the position of
Manager of Quality Control for
TexElastic Corporation. Bill has
been with TexElastic since 1979
and prior to his new position was
a Sales/Technical Represen
tative.

A. (Jamie) Johnson has been pro
moted to Laboratory Supervisor.

report shows that the average life
expectancy for a 32-year-old man
who did not smoke cigarettes was
79 years, compared with 72 years
for a 32-year-old smoker.
When the Sears’ Award of Excellence was presented to Plant 3 in KemersviUe, all the employees at
tending the ceremony wore a T-shirt given to them by Adams-MUUs Hosiery Company. The logo on
the shirt was an Adams-Millis sock and the words: T Survived the Adams-MilUs Fire and
Reconstruction! March 19, 1981.” The logo designed by Theresa Smith who works in the Finishing
