ANVIL BRAND MAKES “ALL-AMERICA” FLAGS FOR
CITY SCHOOLS—Mr. G. K. Hammes, right above, president
of Anvil Brand, and Reitzel N. Morgan and W. J. Rives,
vice-presidents of the company, look at one of the new “All-
America City” flags which are to be presented to each of the
High Point City Schools. These flags and a banner 35 feet
long and six feet wide were made in the Dungaree Depart
ment. Elsie Lester, a supervisor and one of the most expert
seamstresses in the company, did all the sewing. The banner
was used at the ceremony at High Point College Stadium
when the “All-America” award was presented to High Point.
It also will be used at the national swim meet of the American
Athletic Union to be held at High Point City Lake this Sum
mer. Mr. Hammes said Anvil Brand is happy to cooperate
with the High Point Junior Chamber of Commerce in making
the flags and banner, and to share in the honor which has
come to High Point.
