DAVIS RETIIiES October 1, 1948 Mr. W. E. Davis will retire. He has been with Melrose Hosiery Mills eighteen years. He started with I n>s tool box and through the years Melrose has built a modern ma rine shop under his supervision. He leaves a “monument” of fifteen inch lathe, ten inch lathe, eighteen inch drill press, small drill press, JNo. 2 milling machine, No. 1 Nib- j Machine, hack saw machine, and the shop is equipped to run ^ modern hosiery mill. Mr. Davis is known in the community as “old time” master mechanic. He learned as an ap prentice of the old school and then worked out the rest in the “school of experience.” His many friends wish him well and hope that he will keep active under his retirement job. thanks I’d like to thank everyone con nected with Melrose for the many lavors that have been shown me and the many happy years I have spent with the company. It IS not enough to say, “some- hing should be done about so and so a suggestion specifies a defi nite plan or method or device for improvement.
