The Commercial II students orgenized its class on November 1,
1927. The following officers were elected:

Sec. Miss Thelma Mitchell
Treas. Miss Avis Fowler
Sponsor. Miss Ethel Sanders
Through this organization we pirn to bring before the public
interesting programs which wg believe will be beneficial.
A rhetoricel will be presented vefore the student body end
faculty after the Christmas Holidays.
Although our scholastic career is almost ended we hope to leave
a pleasant memory in the minds of our followers.
The Freshmen Commercial and College classes presented the stu
dent body with a very intej’esting debate Friday, Dec. 2. ffhe
question pt issue was: '"Rosolved ti.at «he freedom of the College
man is detrimental.” The College rnprecented the affirmative de
fended by Messrs. Bond, Eeeyes and Braduhcr'3; the Commercial upheld
the negative devended by l!e.=^3rs- L'orman, Moore end Gray.
The debaters had a very heated discourse v/hich kept the
audience in suspense.
The audience was very ruch plrased when the jijfiges made their
decision 2-1 in favor of the fff irirat ive.
Addresses to the CommerciQ.1 Cli''b during the first
q_uarter were made by the following business men of the city of
Durham; Atty C(,gL« Gates, Hr,. J. OrrrxeG^, Ilr. R. Harris. All
of the addfess were e.ctreraely helpful^
