FRIDAY, MAY 27, 1960 THE CAMPUS ECHO PAGE FIVE Women Student Officials Selected Amelia Thorpe, a junior psy chology major from Durham, has been elected president of the Off-Campus Women’s Council for next term. Also elected were Elizabeth Jones, vice-president; Donnie McNeil, secretary; and Annie Mae Harris, parliamen tarian. Other members of the Off- Campus Women’s Council are Bettye Hayes, Lauretta Williams, Elaine Taylor, Geral dine Foreman, Virdell Tedder, and Betty Smith. The Off-Campus big sisters for next year are Sheryl School er, Allie Hale, Victoria Jones, Elizabeth Jones, Elaine Fairley, Bettye Hayes, Barbara Harding, Amelia Thorpe, Bettye Snipes, Anna Satterwhite, Virdell Ted der, and Bettye Smith. The new Senior Counselors are Parthenia McCall, Jo Ann Batie, Ida Stephens, Thelma Up- perman, Elwynda Patterson, Carrie Tucker, Eva Burrey, Constance Howie, Barbara Mas sey, Doris Brooks, Sandra Jones, Angela Keyes, Maddie Pearce, Ethel Naomi Warren, Thestice Henderson, Mary Wooten, Bettye Puryear, Doris Rice, Hilda Boistic, and Mildred Fain. Freshmen who will serve on the house council of their re spective dormitories next year are Fay Bryant, Gloria Drew, Margaret Reed, Frances San ders, Barbara Former, Clara Coleman, Katie Frye, George- line Jackson, Lillie Inez San ders, Vivian English, Elsie Ar rington, Grace Allen, Lizzie Ma-, jette. Ruby Dunston, Margaret McAlpin, Marie Robertson, Phyllis Goodson, Rosetta Jack son, Geraldine Williamson, and Mary Sanders. They will live in Rush and Senior Halls. Sophomores on the house council in Senior Hall are Flossie Jones, Gloria Hayes, Mae Frances Barham, and Evelyn Hall. Aljosie Baker, Florence Wells, Rose Tate, Mona Faye Henderson, Julia Booker, and Delores Melvin will serve on the house council in the New Wo men’s Residence Hall. Eklith Sutten will head the house council at the Residence Hall as president. Sallye Street er will be secretary. Other mem bers, all of whom will be seniors, are Mary Davis, Anne Pulley, Joyce Boone, Barbara Hall, Gwendolyn Martin, Melva Burke, Mary Horton, and Mildred Battle. Chester Mallory, Echo Sports Editor, has been appointed to serve in thei same capacity next year. This will mark the third year in the sports department for the rising junior. During Freshman As sembly on May 18, the officers were installed by the freshman advisor and College counselor, Mr. William J. Holloway. Dorm Directess To Retire Mrs. Ada L. Montgomery, house directress at McLean Hall, annoxmces that she will retirei at the end of the present school term. A directress since coming here on September 1, 1950, she' has previously served as dormi tory directress at Howard Uni versity. Mrs. Montgomery taught school in Oklahoma for 26 years, where she received an A.B. de gree in English at Langston University in 1924. She audited classes at Kansas State Teachers College, and in 1937 studied at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. She states; “I have no particu- lar plans as of yet.
