Wedding Bells Dr. Nichlos Scott Craven, Pediat rics, was married to Penelope King, assistant head nurse on Hanes, on jMarch 2. In Surgery, Sandra Scott and Arthur Bradsher were married Feb ruary 24. New Faces and Old Surgery In Plastic Surgery, Deanna Tilley has transferred to the Department of Physiology, and has been replaced by Nancy Casey from SPDC. In the Thoracic Surgery Labora tory, two new faces: Mrs. Barbara Andrews and John Willis. Surgical PDC Mrs. Lucy F. Schubart is our new Cashier as of February 25. She and her husband have a daughter at W.C. and a son at Durham High. Mrs. Daisy Johnson transferred from Emergency to SPDC on March 5. Mrs. Frances Lawrence at the Reservation Desk is recuperating nicely from surgery. Pediatrics Mrs. Janet Poteat joined the staff of the Pediatric Out-Patient Clinic March 4 as a secretary. Dr. Ramon V. Canent, Jr., Fellow in Pediatric Cardiology, presented a paper at the Young Investigators’ Award meeting in Los Angeles in March. He placed in the top ten. Eugenia Cole has joined Dr. Madi son Spach’s stafi' as nurse and tech nician. She was formerly a nurse on Howland Ward. Psychiatry Mrs. Vaida Thompson has joined the technical staff of the Department. Personnel Office We welcome Mrs. Carol Rippey, a former employee of Duke University, who joined the staff in December 1962. Nursing Service Nursing Service is welcoming two new exchange nurses: Miss Shin Ai Choi from Chunju, Korea, and Miss Kikue Shimizu from Yokahama, Ja pan. These nurses have come to fur ther their training in obstetrical and medical nursing, respectively. They will be here for at least six months. Mrs. Verna Sticht, evening super visor, has left Duke to assume her new position in Shiraz, Iran, under the auspices of the Iranian Founda tion, Physical Therapy The North Carolina Physical Theray Association spring meeting was held at Duke University, March 30. Miss Eleanor Flanagan of the Duke staff is vice-president of the chapter and was in charge of arrangements. Dr. Claude Nichols, Psychiatry, Dr. Morton Bogdonoff, Medicine, and Mrs. Christine von Arnim of Physical Therapy participated in the program. Nancy Laszlo terminated her, work as coordinator of Extension Services in Physical Therapy in the field of Public Health on February 7. (Daughter Rebecca was born Febru ary 8.) Mrs. Laszlo’s post is being filled by Idell Landrum, former as sistant clinical supervisor. Miss Kaiser has been asked to serve on the Advisory Board to the new graduate program in physical therapy at the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina. Duke Hospital Durham, N.
