Davison Society Appoints Three John C. Alexander, Jr., David R. Garr and Terry L. Hankey were appointed to new positions in the medical school's student government recently. Douglas S. Lloyd, president of the Davison Society, announced that the three would be the society's representatives to three medical organizations. Mr. Alexander is the new represent ative to the Medical Society of the State of North Carolina. He will serve on their Advisory Committee on Student Amer ican Medical Association Chapters in North Carolina. He is currently a third- year medical student and president of his class. Mr. Garr will sit on the Durham- Orange County Medical Society's Ex ecutive Committee as the representative of the Davison Society. He is currently the treasurer of the sociefty and a third-year student. Mr. Hankey, also a third-year student, is the new Davison Society representative to the North Carolina Academy of General Practice. He recently returned to Durham from Ohio where he spent 10 weeks working with general practitioners under the sponsorship of the Miami (Ohio) County Medical Society. Dr. Aniyan, vice president for health affairs, headed a three-week mission to Poland, Yugoslavia, Israel and Italy for the National Library of Medicine.
