Chorus Schedules Concert
The Duke Hospital Chorus, 30 em
ployes who are full of energy and rarin'
to sing, will present a second concert on
Friday, November 13, in the Music Room
of the East Duke Building.
The chorus, organized for about seven
months, gave its first program September
11. Intercom later got this letter from
the Medical Center personnel director.
I've heard the song 'The Best
Things in Life Are Free' and on
Friday, September II, I saw what
the song meant. On that evening
the Duke Medical Center Chorus
presented their first in a series of
programs for employes and patients
in the Medical Center amphitheater.
Highlights of the evening were solos
by William McDuffie and Ernie
Hawthorne as well as a quartet
who, among other things, told the
comedy story of the preacher and
the bear in song.
About 125 employes and pa
tients attended the event and I can
truly say that a lot of employes at
Duke Medical Center lost an
opportunity to have a relaxing
evening of entertainment. The next
time they give a program you’ll
have an opportunity to see for
yourself what a group of employes
can do with a little encouragement.
Robert C. Tuthill
Anyone interested in joining the
chorus should attend the rehearsals held
each Monday and Wednesday at 3:30
p.m. in Room 214-A Baker House. More
concerts are planned during the Christmas
season.
