The second annual P.E.P. (Paths for Employe Progress) recognition ceremony was held last week in the Hospital amphitheater, honoring 31 graduates who have completed the program this year. In a talk to the group. Dr. Thomas D. Kinney, director of medical and allied health education, underscored the importance of continuing education in the health field. Noting the degree of specialization in medicine today and the many different roles which must support the physician in his work, he urged the graduates not to underestimate their achievement. He noted that health careers and medically related activities would soon become the second largest industry in the nation. Howard Lee, who directs the P.E.P. program, said he was particularly pleased with the caliber of the graduates and the very low attrition rate throughout the year. He sees the young program as "beneficial to employe morale and an opportunity for Medical Center employes to better their lot in life through the joint efforts of the individual and the University."
