The galloping gourmet HOMECOMING Southeastern Community College held its second annual Homecoming Saturday, January 16,1971. » insisted of a "Ramacade", an open house, the alumni dmner, and the basketball game between SCC and Lenoir Community Homecoming festivities began with the "Ramacade'' which left SCC at 11:30 p.m. en route to Chadbourn, Tabor City and Whiteville. The motorcade was made up of set president, Dr. Cottingham; Miss SCC, Nancy Johnson; SCC cheerleaders; the basketball squad; coaches Nance and Walsh; Ramu; the homecoming contestants, Lmda Frink, Jane Leake, Virginia Drake, Kay Sutton, Pam Strickland, Peggy Hammond, Donna G. Wilson, and Maxine Blue. The entire public was invited to attend an Open House and a tour of the college campus from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday afternoon. Every building was open with a member of faculty and students available to serve as hosts and tour guides. The Alumni dinner began at 5:45 in the Student Lounge. Forty-five alumni and 11 faculty members were present for the meal. The election of alumni officers was one important facet of the business session. Kathleen Mooney is the newly elected president; William R. Sasser, vice president; Sue Davis, secretary-treasurer. Randy Long, SGA president, accepted a cream and sugarer from the alumni in behalf of the Student Govern ment Association; it matched the punch bowl given by last year's alumni.
