Peel of the Class of I 891 has given his life to the ministry. Upon the death of Rev. R. A. Ricks in 1 891, he was called to the pastorate of the Christian church, in Burlington, N. C. His first monument as a church builder is the house of worship, built there dur ing his ministry, which was, at its com pletion, the handsomest church in that city. Another church that stands as a monument to his labors, is the Christian church at Haw River. He spent one year in post-graduate study at the Uni versity of North Carolina. He has taught in Berkley, Suffolk and Norfolk, Virginia, and Raeford, N.
